Sama Zama is Japanese for variety. An extension of One Bite Grill, Sama Zama is anything but typical! Offering an Izakaya style dining experience, many of our small, thoughtful dishes, are based on family recipes and Owner Erika Koike's own creations. Focusing on authentic Japanese comfort food, our simple dishes are the perfect size to enjoy with friends and family. And you must try our specialty, Okonomiyaki (traditional Japanese-style grilled pizza) – simply delicious soul food! Located in Kansas City’s historic Westport district, we offer casual dining in an intimate, modern setting, similar to a dining atmosphere you might find in Tokyo. OKONOMI YAKI

JAPANESE STYLE SAVORY PANCAKE

Okonomi Yaki means “grill what you like” in Japanese. This authentic Japanese dish comes from the traditions of Osaka and Hiroshima. Often referred to as a Japanese style pizza, it is a batter made out of a variety of ingredients and grilled to perfection. Each one comes topped with a fried egg. Okonomi Yaki comes with sweet and creamy sauces and your choice of either crunchy noodles orkatsuobushi (Bonito fish flakes). Our Modan Style Okonomi Yaki is served WITH A LAYER of fried EGG Noodles.
